Big media try to shutdown Tory Politico, part two
Well it’s been over a month since I received a cease and desist order from lawyers representing politico.com. The order in essence informed me that the name of this blog infringes the trademark held by Capital News Company for their publication.
Now Dow Lohnes, counsel for the publishers of the Politico newspaper and politico.com, have filed a complaint at the World Intellectual Property Organisation Arbitration and Mediation Center:

Another MP threatens to sue another Blogger
When will MPs learn, threatening to sue bloggers is never a good idea.
The latest blogger to fall foul of an over sensitive parliamentarian is the owner of the ‘mannisms‘ blog, who spends his time keeping “a close eye on the spoutings of John Mann, MP.”
Apparently the MP for Bassetlaw doesn’t like being called a “wanker”:
Former Foreign Editor at Sky News protects tweets after vile attack on Cameron
Yesterday I reported that freelance journalist and former Foreign Editor at Sky News Leah Borromeo, aka monstris, used Twitter to unleash a vile slur on David Cameron and CCHQ staffers:

Now it would appear that she doesn’t quite like all the attention this completely unacceptable attack has given her and has protected her Twitter updates:
Tories win endorsement from former SAS hero Andy McNab

Former SAS hero turned author Andy McNab as strongly endorsed David Cameron and the Conservatives, and accused Gordon Brown of ‘betraying’ the Armed Forces.
Speaking to The Sun the special forces commander, who led the failed Bravo Two Zero raid deep into Iraq during Operation Desert Storm said:
“I’m impressed. The Tories are the future,’ he said, adding “Cameron’s got the SAS vote – that’s for sure.”
Clearly Brown doesn’t understand elections
This morning Gordon Brown gave a rather poor interview, even by his standards, to Woman’s Hour. Asked whether he would resign if he did not get a majority at the election he replied: “I’ll keep going because I want a majority, I’ll keep going.”
How arrogant and or deluded is Brown to think that he can stay on as leader when the country has rejecting him at the ballot box.
Brown may have survived plots and attempted coups in the past, but for him to think that his party and, more importantly, his Cabinet colleagues will tolerate this following electoral defeat is outrageous. They will clearly be baying for his head.
And the award for the most vile lefty Twitter comment of the night goes to…
…Leah Borromeo aka monstris for posting the bellow comment during Trevor McDonald Meets David Cameron.

Totally pathetic!!!
But who is Leah Borromeo I hear you ask? Well she’s not just a random Labour Twitterer as many may think.
Jeffrey Sachs Endorses Osborne

George Osborne has won the endorsement of Jeffrey Sachs, the director of Columbia Universities Earth Institute. The world renowned economist has signed a joint op-ed in tomorrow’s Financial Times with the shadow chancellor.
Here are come of the key excerpts:
“Virtually all policy analysts agree that the path to renewed prosperity in Europe and the US depends on a credible plan to re-establish sound public finances. Without such a plan, the travails which have hit Greece and which are threatening Portugal and Spain will soon enough threaten the UK, US, and other deficit-ridden countries. In the recent duel of macroeconomists, one camp has called for early budget consolidation, followed by further measures over five years. We agree. Others want more fiscal stimulus, delaying deficit reduction. We believe delaying the start of deficit reduction would put long-term recovery at risk. Such an approach misjudges politics, financial markets, and underlying economic realities.”
Straw to scrap House of Lords

Labour’s assault on the historic institutions of the United Kingdom continues apace.
This morning the Sunday Telegraph splashed with the news Justice Secretary Jack Straw is on the brink of announcing plans to replace the House of Lords with a 300-member fully elected second chamber. The paper’s Political Editor Patrick Hennessy reports:
“Ministers are ready to announce their plans, which follow years of fruitless cross-party discussions and several votes in the House of Commons, in a bid to wrong-foot the Tories with polling day less than two months away. Labour’s plan is to provoke elements inside the Conservative Party to object to the reforms – which would allow it to paint David Cameron as wedded to old ideas of privilege.”
“Under the government’s proposals, members of the new chamber would be able to be subject to a US-style “recall ballot” which would disqualify them for incompetence.
The plans would see all members of the new-look assembly being directly elected – ending the system of party patronage- with polling under some form of proportional representation system taking place at the same time as general elections.
Expenses Fiddler Lord Paul Repays £38,000

The Telegraph is reporting that Lord Paul has repaid the £38,000 he claimed in expenses for a flat in Oxfordshire that he never stayed in.
According to Andrew Alderson:
Political sources have revealed that Lord Paul – who is one of the country’s richest men and worth an estimated £500 million – has quietly and voluntarily repaid the £38,000.
The peer has admitted that he never spent a single night at an Oxfordshire flat that he registered as his main home while claiming money in overnight expenses for a London property… Lord Paul has denied breaking the law or acting improperly despite having never staying at what he called his main home. “It’s true I never slept there.
